Launched by Prudential in October 1998, the Egg credit card offers an 0% introductory APR for balance transfers and purchases. For each balance transfer there is a 3% handling fee.

Free cash advances
If you’ve got another Egg account, you won’t pay a handling fee for cash advances. Otherwise the handling fee is 3% of the withdrawal amount (minimum fee: £3).

Interest-free grace period
Pay your balance in full each month and get up to 45 days’ grace before you’re charged interest. This offer applies to purchases only.

Egg were the pioneers of online banking, and offer an established, simple to use service with full telephone support.

0% Anniversary offer
Another attractive feature of the card is customers receive a 0% offer each year until 2011.
